Building an Adventure Park

For over 10 years, we have built and operated large and small climbing parks in Norway and abroad.

Looking for that extra something to spruce up your park? Then we have got several possibilities at the ready! Here at H&L we pride ourselves on designing and building an adventure park that will give families and corporate groups alike a fun challenge. All H&L adventure parks and elements are built in accordance with international and national regulations and guidelines.

Initial survey and projecting an adventure park

During our initial survey we’ll make a rough design and look at the potential and opportunities of your area. You’ll receive an initial design draft, a budget estimate and a detailed description of your order. This provides you with a clear and concise view of what establishing a park will mean both financially and practically. These documents can be of great help when applying for funding and can help you in attracting investors. We can also assist you with zoning plans and aquiring permits.

The initial survey documents are like the blueprints for your house, providing you with a solid foundation for further work, budgeting and planning of your park.

Design

H&L will provide you with a design draft of your adventure park. The draft includes an overview of trails elements/installations as well as the organization of your park. One of the most important parts to building an adventure park is its design and layout. A good design ensures that your guests get the best possible visit to a safe and secure park, as well as helps you make the most out of the resources available in your park.

Construction

All parks built by H&L are custom made and tailored to each specific location. Construction time depends on several factors such as the size, type of foliage, terrain and other concerns. Normally, you should expect construction to take 6-10 weeks to complete. H&L will provide a team of 6-10 people working continuously to complete the park.

In addition to construction, you have to test the adventure park, train your Operating Manager and staff as well as have your park approved by the authorities. From the decision to build the park is done and until it can open to the public you should expect a 6 month wait.

Layout of the adventure park

How you organize your adventure park, plan your trails, training areas and common areas play a very important role in the success of your park. Through feedback from our guests and partners we’ve made a lot of useful experiences throughout the years on what works and not, which we will happily share with you.

Establishing Routines and Training Staff

National government regulations state that the Operating Manager must have the necessary qualifications in order to manage the adventure park. As such, we’ve developed our own system for internal control and operations of zip lines and adventure-based services. This will provide you with the necessary operating routines, complete with checklists and instructions for the different functions and we will provide the training necessary if needed. Our system can also be easily implemented into other activities that are part of your daily operations.

Your staff can visit our park and be a part of the operation firsthand, providing them with useful experience, before their own park opens. Alternatively, our instructors can assist you on-site during the initial opening phase of your park. Our focus lies in quality and safety and we will do our best so that both staff and guests alike will have the best experience possible.

European standards

All H&L adventure park installations and products are built in compliance with both national and international standards and regulations.

Park Maintenance and Follow-Up

Running an adventure park of any size requires continuous maintenance, development and follow-up. We’ve integrated this as a part of our internal control systems through different routines and systems. We always want to be ahead of the curve and plan yearly maintenance and check-ups of your park. This is done well ahead of opening dates, so you can rest assured that everything is ready for the season.

Høyt & Lavt adventure park or systempark

A natural part of an establishment is whether or not you want to integrate the adventure park as part of the network for Høyt & Lavt.
