Natural Playgrounds in Sustainable Materials

Natural play – natural materials

Our playground equipment creates safe and inclusive play areas. Natural playgrounds encourage free play, movement, and motor development, and are delivered in accordance with official playground safety standards.

Hexagon

A playground and obstacle course built on poles is a great choice for open areas without solid trees. It can be constructed as a single or double hexagon, with space for up to eight elements per section. The poles are secured to ensure stability and long-lasting durability.

In the woods

A playground and obstacle course in trees is ideal for forested areas with strong, healthy trees. We adapt the installation to the terrain, making each playground unique. A typical setup includes 8–10 play elements, with natural impact-absorbing surfaces tailored to the surroundings for safe play and long-lasting durability.

On poles

A pole-based obstacle course is suitable for open areas where the terrain must be considered. The poles are either dug into the ground or set in concrete and secured with guy wires. This type of installation typically includes 8–10 elements and can be combined with a zipline for added challenge and variety.

Nett & Sprett

Nett & Sprett is designed for adventurous children, offering an exciting play experience at height. The labyrinth of net walkways is connected with huts built around poles or trees. The design ensures safe, varied, and fun play for the little ones.

We also offer an annual service agreement. This includes inspection reports and basic maintenance. Replacement parts are charged separately.

TBA

A playground is more than just a space for fun – it’s a setting for development, exploration, and social interaction. We build durable natural playgrounds that can be used all year round. By using natural materials such as wood, we create eco-friendly play environments that stimulate children’s imagination, motor skills, and cooperation.

All of our playgrounds are tailored to schools, kindergartens, parks, and residential areas. Each play area is designed based on terrain, functionality, and budget to provide children with a safe and welcoming experience.

Why Choose a Natural Playground?

A natural playground is a sustainable alternative to plastic and rubber-based play areas. Wood and stone provide a long-lasting, organic look while also challenging children physically and creatively. We design playgrounds that blend into the environment and make use of natural elevation, trees, and terrain.

The equipment can be integrated into trees or mounted on poles, offering opportunities for climbing, balancing, ziplining, and other exciting features. This results in a varied playground that promotes physical activity and open-ended play. Many of our elements are produced in collaboration with the social enterprise ASVO Bjørnafjorden.

From Concept to Completed Playground

To ensure the natural playground meets all requirements, we begin with thorough planning. On-site inspections or remote analysis using maps and photos is also something we can provide. Included:

  • Sketches and visual concepts
  • A list of play equipment and material choices
  • A quote based on your budget and needs

We also assist with maintenance, future development, and necessary documentation for funding applications.

Construction Timeline

From decision to completed natural playground, the process typically takes a minimum of two months. Installation itself takes 1–3 weeks depending on size. Once the equipment is installed, we perform testing and provide training in safe use and maintenance.
